I’m an independent Dutch designer specializing in designing premium brands and web experiences to elevate and empower organizations. I love eating the whole enchilada, from wireframes and building prototypes to user interface and visual design. I often code my designs (and design in code).

About kirsten

I graduated in 1998 at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in The Hague, direction Graphic and Typographic design. After graduating I happily worked as a senior graphic and web designer at Buro Van Blokland + Mens in Delft.

Since 2010 I have been working as an independent designer based in Hillegom, The Netherlands. Passionate about responsive web design, graphic design, (web) typography, web standards, animation, illustration and user experience. I am fortunate to be able to do what I love and on top of it all work with amazing and talented people on great projects.

I am most experienced with brand strategy & identity design, responsive web design, user interface design and illustration.

‘Kirsten is a very creative, communicative and utterly reliable designer with whom I had the pleasure of working together with for many years.’

She has the experience and know how for the creative part as well as as executing designs for screen and print — a true multi specialist!

Martin Wenzel | Designer/Partner at www.supertype.de

‘I know Kirsten as a dedicated designer, who understands the craft of good typography and design.’

She knows how to manage a big corporate identity project. Beside that she has great knowledge of designing for web and interaction. She started designing for the web, back in the days when screens were mostly low res and nowadays she knows how to design for the current standards of fluid and mobile design. Working with Kirsten is a pleasure, she is serious, but loves to make good jokes too!
